01Overview

What the bopp coating machine does

The coating machine is where BOPP tape is actually made. Plain BOPP film comes off the jumbo unwind, passes through the coating head where adhesive is applied, travels through the fabricated heater tunnel for drying, and is rewound as a coated jumbo roll ready for slitting or slicing.

SK Engineering Works builds BOPP self-adhesive tape coating machines on a heavy-duty M.S. (mild steel) structure. Machine length is planned so the material gets adequate drying time inside the tunnel, and line speed is engineered to the customer's production requirement rather than sold as a fixed catalogue model.

Its place in the line

The coating machine sits at the start of the tape plant. Its output — a coated, dried jumbo roll — feeds every downstream machine: slitting machines and slitter rewinders for log rolls, slicer machines for finished tape rolls, and rewinders for re-spooling.
